Which China Visa Centre Should You Use in India?

Use residence and official jurisdiction guidance to choose the appropriate China visa centre, and resolve address questions before starting a form.

Choose the Chinese visa application centre by the applicable consular jurisdiction and your circumstances, not by the location of a private agent. A website offering assistance in your city does not establish an official submission centre there. Resolve the centre question before starting a form or arranging passport dispatch.

The published India jurisdiction starting point

The Embassy's August 2024 application notice sets out residence-based consular areas. Use the following as a published reference, then check current centre notices and your case:

Residence listed in the noticeConsular authority
Maharashtra or KarnatakaChinese Consulate-General in Mumbai.
Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, Chhattisgarh or West BengalChinese Consulate-General in Kolkata.
Other areas of IndiaChinese Embassy in India, New Delhi.

This table does not create an exception for a particular passport, residence status or application type. The source is older than some online-process notices; do not use it as authority for current portal steps, fees, attendance or office hours.

What if your addresses differ?

An applicant may have a family address in one state, work in another and hold a passport issued elsewhere. Record those facts separately. Explain where you currently reside and ask what residence evidence the centre requires if the position is unclear. Do not choose a relative's address simply because another centre appears more convenient.

Illustrative preparation case: a person working in Bengaluru still has a family address elsewhere on an older document. The useful question is which current residence records the responsible centre needs, not which state produces the easiest application. This example explains how to frame an enquiry; it does not decide an individual case.

Before opening an application account or form

  1. Identify the relevant official centre and verify that its current website serves your route.
  2. Check whether your nationality/status or category raises an acceptance question.
  3. Resolve any unclear residence evidence through the official contact channel.
  4. Record the selected centre and use its current instructions throughout preparation.
  5. If you already started at a different centre, ask how to correct the situation before opening another file or paying again.

For a non-Indian passport, read applying from India with a foreign passport. Lawful presence and centre acceptance are separate from choosing a visa category.

Remote assistance does not transfer jurisdiction

Visa Expertz's confirmed staffed office is in Rohini, Delhi. Remote preparation can begin there without claiming that every applicant must submit officially in Delhi. Our outside-Delhi assistance guide explains private review and conditional document coordination. Any official submission, interview or biometric step follows the handling authority's instructions.

Questions worth asking the centre

  • Based on my current residence and status, can this centre accept my application?
  • Which document should establish my residence if my records show different addresses?
  • What should I do with an application already started under another centre?
  • Which current notice governs the next submission stage?

A private consultation can help organise these questions; it cannot override jurisdiction or acceptance rules. Source reviewed on 27 September 2026.
